It’s Friday, I’m in Love

Lash Ink

So, I’ve been trying to wear this stuff to review it and the dang stuff is an enigma.  Have any of you tried it that would like to submit something to add to my review?  I would love to work on a collaborative effort on this.

It’s part mascara part something else and EVERY time I wear it it turns out different.

Style Diary

Here is a sneak peak from this coming Tuesday’s SD, Winter is Coming.  As I’ve mentioned before, it’s like Winterfell goes punk.  It’ll have a lot of Inglot and I even hunted down the perfect scent for it, too.  I’m working on perfecting the format, really fleshing it out.  I do REALLY love designing these because it’s actually more of what I do.

I’m actually thinking about four posts ahead on these, so I have at least that many coming up.  I’m always looking for ideas!

  • There will be a couple more Game of Thrones inspired ones, maybe more later, but two for now.
  • Then one based on the 10th Doctor, who is my all time favorite.  I honestly thought I loved the 9th the most, but things change.
  • Then I’m working on a rose inspired very girly thing that is still in the outline stages.
  • There may or may not be a Miami inspired look and a Disney collection.

Blog Sale

There is still a bunch of stuff listed, if you’re interested.  As I mentioned, the proceeds are going to funding my ArtFire shop.  Wow, I have so much MORE respect for everyone running shops these days.  Although I did it before, I forgot how much work went into branding and supplies and materials.  It’s been such an amazingly fun project so far, though!  I’m really close to being able to get everything set up.

Everything purchased so far has been mailed and another batch went out this morning!  When I mail things internationally, I skip the local PO and drive to a bigger office.

Halloween

I know it’s early to be talking about Halloween, but I was in Micheal’s the other day getting crafty bits and they already had stuff out!  I’m teaming up with Erin from The Pretty Exclusive to do a series of looks based on my FAVORITE eerie ladies in literature.

Speaking of Halloween, I’m now sporting this handsome fellow, just in time to visit Disneyland again.  He’s fresh as of last night.

The Pumpkin King

Coming Soon

Coming this week I hope to manage to keep up on things.  I think I’m a review or two behind from the last couple weeks.  This is my ‘to review‘ pile, though.

So… I have a ways to go.  You may quite possibly see this week:

A Winter is Coming Style Diary post.

A Rimmel Concealer review.

An Ophelia’s Apothecary update.

Some Sleek swatches.

A mystery review I’m not sure I want to write yet or not.

Your Turn

  1. Anyone know a good dupe for MAC’s Naked pigment?  Someone asked and I honestly don’t know and Google was no help.
  2. What are some of your favorite Indie’s that I haven’t reviewed yet?
  3. What are some things you want to do before the end of Summer?

  1. One of my newest Etsy finds that I love is Mirasol Farm. I have tried their lotions, bar soap, and lip balms and they are wonderful. I recently got a new tattoo and am using their Tattoo Salve right now. I have had no scabbing or pealing and I am loving it!!! You should check them out.

  2. Tom Baker will always be the ultimate Doctor for me! I am quite liking Eleven, but Four will always be my doctor.

    1. I don’t know anything about MAC, so I’d be hopeless at recommending any lookalikes!
    2. Have you ever tried anything from Swan Mountain Soaps? While I wouldn’t say the whole shop is a personal favourite, I really do like their dry ‘shampoo’ — it’s a little grittier initially than any other kind I’ve used but it gives my hair volume and totally takes away any oil! I used it on day 2 without a wash last week, and by the end of day 3 (BUSY week) I was getting compliments on my hair (and I got it to go up pin-up style with no hassle – miracle right there).
    3. I just want to stop being hot. Autumn can’t come fast enough.

  3. OMG. 10 Is my favorite Doctor too! I’m so excited for that look!! David Tennant and I need to get married; it’s sad he is actually married. 😦 Awesome Friday post!

  4. I haven’t tried the lash stain you linked to, but I have tried tarte’s 4-day-stay, which I think is similar – I hated it because it didn’t stain so much as coat and stick, and it felt like it made my lashes brittle and prone to breakage.

  5. Sorry, I don’t know any dupes for MAC’s naked. I’m not sure if that is an eyeshadow or not. A google didn’t help me either. I haven’t really been buying any indie makeup because of my inglot purchase in May. The fun in mineral makeup is gone for me now that Aromaleigh is no longer around anyway. Summer is almost gone, and I am not officially addicted to Bikram Yoga. Except I’ve gained 2 lbs which feels like a lot when I was already up a little in weight. So, I’d like to drop at least 3 lbs and continue to do Bikram 5 times a week.

  6. Did you get the Pink Bow Bath Boutique Heartsy voucher? I hope you did because their lotions are amaaaazing!!! You should review them — tons of great scents w/ a cute theme. I personally love the skin souffle 🙂

  7. OMG! Those I hats! OCTOPUS TOP HAT! I adore the Bunny Ears one 🙂 Have you tried Sundara Cosmetics? http://www.etsy.com/shop/SundaraCosmetics I am intrigued by the all matte shadows but fear chalkiness. :/

  8. I don’t think you reviewed Adorned With Grace Minerals (they have great worksafe but interesting eyeshadows and their blushes are very popular though too subtle for me)
and Lumiere Cosmetics (I like their foundation and eyeshadows).

Some of my favourite perfume oils are from Possets and Violette Market. I never ordered from them though.

  9. I’m excited for the 10th doctor look! Ten is probably by favorite as well (though I also thought that Nine couldn’t be replaced, but there you go). Eleven is growing on me. I wasn’t super happy with no more David Tennant, and leery about the new Doctor, new TARDIS, new everything, but I’m liking it so far.

  10. *cough* I started working on halloween stuff mid last month! >.> I don’t think august is early at all ❤ and LOVE your new tattoo! Gorgeous!

  11. I know what you mean about Order Abandon, I might kill for the tentacle hat.

  12. 1. One of the reviewers on MakeupAlley said that UD’s Virgin from the Naked palette (heh) is similar in color to MAC’s Naked, but more frosty (http://w7x.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=53920/Pigment-in-Naked/MAC/Eye-Shadow). I’m not a MACite, but it sounds like it’s one of those eye-brightening “washes of color” that everyone goes wild over–so if it’s like UD’s Virgin, maybe it’s also similar to Stila’s Kitten?

    2. Hmm…honestly, I think I encountered most of my fave indies through you!

    3. Grah, the summer’s ending so soon. I want to go running at least five times in one week.

  13. It is hard to find Naked the pigment anywhere on Google, but if it’s like what Ciambella says then Silk Naturals sells a clone of it – they have a collection of dupes for the UD Naked palette. I dunno if they sell them separately, but asking probably wouldn’t hurt.

I don’t have any indie cosmetics you haven’t reviewed, but for skin care I love Batty’s Bath and Amethyst Soaps

I don’t have any plans or desires for the end of summer besides the fact that it needs to end faster! It’s far too hot for me!

  14. The hats – love!

  15. What about Inglot Freedom System Eye Shadow AMC Shine 08? http://www.letzmakeup.com/2011/07/inglot-haul-first-impressions-crazy.html#more
Look at the swatch there. It looks shinier, but you can blend it out so it isn’t as blingy.

  16. The 10th Doctor is my favourite too 🙂

I’m really looking forward to seeing the Inglot stuff in particular, I still haven’t been able to get my hands on any to try out, and it all looks so lovely!

  17. Very exciting news!
I hope you and Mr. Skellington have a blast at Disneyland!!

Before summer is over I am going to try and get better at rollerskating and not fall down so much!!!

    xoxo
